Reptiles are a vertebrate animal (having a back or spinal column) of a class that includes snakes, lizards, crocodiles, turtles, and tortoises. They are distinguished by having a dry scaly skin and typically lay soft-shelled eggs on land.
There are more than 8,000 species of reptiles on the planet, and they live on every continent except Antarctica. Did you know that some reptiles are more closely related to birds than they are to other reptiles? Or that they are all born on land, fully developed with very strong instincts, since they are on their own at birth or shortly after.
While visiting Safari Niagara, come see and learn all about reptiles at the Reptile Presentation, where our knowledgeable staff will both entertain and educate you on these unique specimens.
